Everyone is welcome to Wednesday drop-in Bible study.

Heritage Baptist Church

Why do we come to church? We have a community of people whose purpose in life is to worship Christ and to do whatever pleases Him. Loving God and loving people are the glue that keeps any church together. The Christian life is not just a matter of “believing”. It is also a matter of “belonging.” The fact that we are all sinners saved by God’s grace is what we have in common. The only requirement for membership into God’s family is repentant faith in Christ.

We are not only a community who knows Christ, but a community that is always growing in Christ. If you are not growing, you are shrinking! There is no neutral ground in the Christian life. Look upward as we look to God. Look inward as we mature and are equipped. Look outward as we look to the fields that are white unto harvest. Spiritual maturity is not the goal.

We want to grow so that we can go and tell others! It is not enough to know the Bible, but to practice the Bible.

Join us upstairs at the Presbyterian Church in Riberas del Pilar Sundays at 11:15 a.m. for prayer, then the Word at 11:45 a.m. Wednesdays: Bible study at 3 p.m. Info: 333-016-3743, This email address is being protected from spambots. Lake Chapala Baptist Church

The Sunday, 21 January pulpit message from John 9:1-7 entitled “When Jesus Comes …” wasn’t drawn from Daniel or The Revelation. This account of a man born blind gave the disciples opportunity to ask is the man blind because of his sin or the sin of his parents. Jesus chose not to answer their question and answered greater questions. Does this man need physical healing of his blindness? Jesus miraculously restored his sight and taught the man that obedience should be his response to Jesus’ healing. Jesus taught His disciples a different lesson. Do not focus on the sin of the man. Our focus must be on the need of man’s soul. Yes, judgment is coming, but it is not ours to judge.

Lake Chapala Baptist Church is at Santa Margarita 147, Riberas del Pilar. English-language Bible study is at 9:30 a.m. English-language worship service is at 10:45 a.m. The Spanish-language worship service is at 12:30 p.m.

Abundant Life Church

Are you happy? Being happy seems to be a fleeting thing in our generation with all the things that can and often do go wrong. How can we avoid the depression that seems to permeate our society? While happiness may come and go with each activity, an overall sense of wellbeing or joy can be with us always because it is not something we earn or achieve. Joy is something given to us. Come this Sunday, January 28, to tap into the only source of joy that is lasting. The good news that joy is given freely and we do nothing to earn it!

Beginning February 4, the Lake Chapala Unitarian Universalist Fellowship (LCUUF) will be sharing space at Saint Andrews Anglican Church in Riberas del Pilar.

Since 2006, the LCUUF has been in five Lakeside locations, adapting each time to a new space.  Members of both congregations have been working collaboratively to ensure a smooth transition and are excited about the enhanced possibilities of the upcoming move.

There have already been two joint events in the beautiful garden at Saint Andrews, and we look forward to more shared experiences.
The last service at the current location, Hidalgo 261 in Riberas del Pilar, will be January 28, 10:30-11:30 p.m.

At the end of that service the congregation will march across the highway and a few blocks west to Saint Andrews located at San Lucas 19 in Riberas del Pilar, accompanied by music and celebration, to be warmly greeted by the Saint Andrew’s congregation.

Starting Sunday, February 4, LCUUF services will be held from noon to 1 p.m. and we welcome members and visitors to the new location.
