Kid stuff
Grace Church and other local volunteers are sponsoring orphanage fun days every Saturday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Los Carriles Park in Lower La Floresta. Grace church volunteers Steve McDill and Donald Spangler are coordinating and partnering with four local boys and girls homes (Mama Cleo boys home, Love in Action, La Ola and Treasure House homes for girls). Activities include soccer, tennis, volleyball, pickleball, basketball and eating pizza. According to McDill and Spangler, there were 47 kids at the program on Saturday, August 26 and six lakeside area volunteers. Spangler will also share and teach the children character and life lessons during the breaks and at lunch time. Several boys from Mama Cleo’s get to spend quality time with their sibling sisters that live at Love in Action. If someone wants to volunteer to help out, buy pizza or donate tennis rackets and balls, please contact Grace church or McDill at 615-603-4860 on WhatsApp or Spangler at 376-106-2183.
