Burger Boy ousts taco stand

Some 50-plus Democrats Abroad GDL Chapter members, family and friends came together to celebrate their country’s 246th anniversary of Independence with picnic fare, a chili cookoff competition and piñatas of both the other political party and a certain orange-haired former U.S. president.

A smaller Independence Day celebration than those held pre-pandemic was hosted by the U.S. Consulate General in Guadalajara at the JW Mariott Hotel Thursday, June 29.

Michael Hogan, an Irish American historian and educator living in Guadalajara, has been selected by the Irish Echo Team as a 2022 Community Champion for his work with the online community of students worldwide.
