Guadalajara pro golfer Carlos Ortiz, 23, made a creditable showing in his first PGA event, the Memorial Tournament, held last weekend in Dublin, Ohio.

Ortiz, who leads the Web.com Tour, the PGA’s developmental tour, finished tied for 65th in the 120-player field.  After an opening round 75, he made the cut with a fine second round four-under par 68, ending with rounds of 76 and 72.  If he continues his form on the Web.com Tour, he is guaranteed his PGA Tour card for next year.
