Kia Motors opens three metro-area showrooms

Kia Motors this month inaugurated 21 agencies in 10 cities across Mexico, three of them in Guadalajara.

The Korean manufacturer hopes to sell 7,000 cars in the second half of 2015. Customers will be able to choose from the mid-size Sorento, compact Forte and SUV Sportage models.

Meanwhile, construction of the new Kia plant in Pesqueria, Nuevo Leon continues, with completion targeted in 16 months.  The plant will make the Forte and Sorento models and is aiming for an annual production target of 300,000 vehicles.

Kia plans to have 25 showrooms in place by the end of 2015, and 65 by 2017, Horacio Chavez, general manager of Kia Motors Mexico, said this week.

Chavez said Kia is renowned for its surprises and noted that the 21 agencies were designed, built, fitted out and opened in less than six months.

All the showrooms feature Kia’s “Red Cube” concept, which the company says “delivers the most complete visual representation of Kia’s design-focused brand strategy.”

Each agency will create between 50 and 80 jobs, Chavez said.

All Kia vehicles sold in Mexico come with a seven-year or 150,000-kilometer warranty.

Agencies in Guadalajara are Kia Lopez Mateos, Av. Lopez Mateos Sur 4251; Kia Galerias, Av. Vallarta 5760 and Kia Patria, Av. Patria S/N, Col. Colinas de San Javier.
