US tech firm opens plant in Zapopan

Gigamon Inc., a market leader in security and traffic visibility solutions, this week opened a new components plant in Zapopan’s Technology Park.

“It’s a big step in our strategy for expansion in the coming years,” said CEO Paul Hooper. “Manufacturing our components in Mexico will help us meet the demand we are experiencing around the world at this time, including Latin America.”

The 18,000-square-meter plant is located inside the installations of IT contract manufacturer Jabil Circuit, one of the biggest employers in the city.

U.S. company Gigamon was recently ranked as one of the fastest growing companies in North America based on Deloitte’s 2015 Technology Fast 500.

Gigamon’s website says its “Visibility Fabric™ architecture delivers pervasive and dynamic traffic visibility from across the physical and virtual network environments to centralized tools that manage, analyze and secure the network.” Clients include enterprises, data centers and service providers from 45 countries around the globe.
