A day later, a 45-year-old woman was assaulted in similar fashion in Colonia Atlas, receiving a bullet to the abdomen. She was about to get into her car after withdrawing 40,000 pesos from a bank. The assailants grabbed the woman’s bag and fled on a motorcycle but were in for a disappointment. It was empty; the woman had put the cash in another purse.
