Drivers in the city center breathed a huge sigh of relief this week when the Avenida Hidalgo tunnel reopened after a four-month reconstruction hiatus.
The tunnel is now 250 meters longer than before. City hall says it will take a further 45 days to finish the surrounding above-ground plaza, but promised that the new Corona Market adjoining the tunnel would open before February 14, Guadalajara’s birthday.
