The Hyatt Regency Andares, a luxury hotel in upscale Plaza Andares, is scheduled to open in the next few weeks, says Jalisco Tourism Secretary Enrique Ramos.
The 40-story $US250 million Hyatt Regency Andares will boast 255 rooms and create 300 new jobs.
Room sizes will be much larger than at most comparable hotels in the city – at around 42 square meters. The aim is to create a more “homey” feel, designers say. The hotel will also feature a restaurant serving pre-Hispanic dishes.
Other hotels that will open in Guadalajara this year belong to the ONE and Marriot chains. The openings will provide an additional 3,100 rooms, Ramos says. Meanwhile, he notes that work is continuing on two luxury hotels near Chamela in Costalegre – the Zoetry and Louis Vuitton.
The Andares Hyatt will be one of six new hotel openings in Jalisco this year, Ramos said.
