Speeding fines suspended through end of month

Fines are suspended from April 1 through May 2.

Photo infractions will still be sent to the homes of all drivers caught on camera driving above the speed limit, but there will only be a warning, not a fine.  After May 2, the procedure returns to normal.

Under new regulations approved last month, motorists must be warned of speed camera devices at least one kilometer in advance, as well as in the place of their location. Signs indicating the maximum speed limit must also be clearly displayed.

The grace period will also allow traffic authorities time to check and recalibrate the 25 speed cameras installed in different parts of the Guadalajara metropolitan area.
