Chapala rolled out the red carpet for Jalisco Governor Aristoteles Sandoval Friday, January 22 during an official tour that coincided with his 44th birthday.
The chief executive was welcomed by a throng of well-wishers waiting to follow him in a stroll down the southern leg of Avenida Madero, ending a the steps of the Fishermen’s Fountain where he presided at the inauguration of the newly renovated two-block median strip, now dubbed La Plaza de la Hermandad (Fraternity Plaza) in a nod to the municipality’s international populace.
In his remarks, Sandoval labeled the final three years of his term as “los años de Chapala, pledging to “promote grand projects such as this linear park,” and concluding, “What matters to me is that people have jobs, those who are born and live in Chapala remain proud of this great city.”
