Following the federal Tourism Ministry’s December 1 announcement adding Ajijic to the Pueblo Mágico roster, the designation was celebrated at a private gala hosted by local entrepreneurs on Thursday, December 3, on the grounds of the Nimué Club Naútico in La Floresta.
Presiding at a brief ceremony preceding a live entertainment program were Jalisco Secretary of Tourism Germán Ralis Cumplido and Chapala Mayor Moisés Anaya. Speaking from center stage, Ralis declared, “Ajijic, today a Pueblo Mágico, lives up to the name for that magic it radiates, integrating the entire community. Hard work follows, for we will have to engage in many actions to make this town one of the icons of Jalisco and the Ribera de Chapala.”
Anaya went on to congratulate Ajijic’s inhabitants for maintaining the magical qualities that led to the denomination.
