Chapala Mayor Moisés Anaya is back on the job after taking an obligatory three-month leave of absence to campaign for reelection to a second term, plus an extra week of time off to nurse wounds from a bruising defeat at the polls.
He resumed duties on Thursday, June 17, picking up the reins of government from interim Mayor Isaac Trejo (left), who had served in his stead since March 5.
Anaya will turn over the city council’s center seat to Alejandro Aguirre on October 1, to assume a secondary spot as an opposition party regidor on the municipality’s ruling body.
