New sightings of crocodiles along Lake Chapala’s shoreline have been reported over the past week.
Chapala Civil Protection chief Eduardo Aceves López confirmed that he has been forwarded a recent cell phone video showing the head of a large green reptile surfacing from the water in the vicinity of La Floresta and Ajijic.
Several croc sightings were detected in the same area last October. The reptiles suddenly vanished after Civil Protection placed traps at the edge of the water. Aceves plans to set them up again in the hope of a successful capture this time.
