BP hits a mark in Mexico

In just under 18 months, BP has bulldozed its way to becoming the largest foreign company in Mexico’s gas station marketplace.

This distinction was obtained this week following the opening of six BP branded gas stations in the southern state of Campeche.  BP now operates 300 gas stations in 17 states and plans to increase this number to 1,500 by 2021.

BP is only gas station chains in the country to sell its own fuel that is supplied by Pemex.

BP’s “Ultimate fuel with ACTIVE technology,” is described by the company as “an innovative formula based on patented technology specially designed to actively fight dirt, protect against it building up and help engines run as the manufacturer intended.”  The fuel was first launched in March 2016 in the United Kingdom.
