Mexico’s influenza vaccination program will start on November 3, Deputy Health Minister Hugo Lopez-Gatell announced this week.
This is several weeks later than the program normally begins because of the “almost absolute reduction” in flu viruses circulating this year, he said. Flu vaccines are administered free of charge at health clinics and hospitals around the country.
September 16, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) updated its recommendations regarding seasonal flu vaccines, confirming that flu and Covid-19 vaccines can be given simultaneously. The agency had previously said other vaccinations should not be administered within a two-week window before or after the Covid vaccine.
