Jalisco Health Department officials have warned homeowners about “phony brigades” of fumigators prowling neighborhoods claiming to work for their agency.
The criminals gain access to properties by saying they are providing free fumigations against dengue fever and chikungunya.
Victims say the con artists steal money and possessions as they pretend to fumigate the property.
Health Department officials stress that all bona fide employees wear official Secretaria de Salud identification badges, waistcoats and caps, as seen above.
