Temporary resident expats denied vaccines

An elderly U.S. citizen holding temporary resident immigration status was turned away from Covid-19 vaccination clinic held over the last two weeks at the campus of Chapala’s Technological Institute.

pg1aThe wheelchair-bound woman in her seventies arrived at the site on Friday, July 30, with all the requisite documents in hand. She was accompanied by Ana Siller, a local lawyer and certified translator who offers concierge services to expats.

A woman in charge of admitting people to the clinic denied entry to the foreigner without even looking at her paperwork, Siller says. She simply said that temporary residents weren’t being accepted at that time. She refused to give Siller her name and threated to punch her in the face for persisting in asking for an explanation for the sudden policy change.
