‘Mothers’ snubbed after locating human remains

Working on an anonymous tip-off, a group of mothers who take it upon themselves to search for missing persons have discovered what could be a clandestine gravesite in the municipality of Tlajomulco containing as many as 50 corpses.

As of Wednesday of this week, personnel from the Jalisco Institute of Forensic Sciences had reportedly unearthed human remains from at least eight grave sites, after bringing in ground penetrating radar.

The “madres buscadoras,” however, slammed Jalisco state police for keeping them away from the site after they had initially led authorities there, and not keeping them informed of the progress of the search. The women also complained that the state’s search teams deliberately placed an excavator brought in to remove earth in the sight line to the grave site, so they would not be able to see how many corpses are being dug up. “If they carry on this way, we’ll be forced to break the protocols, and carry out the searches on our own,” one representative for the women told reporters.
