Merchants protest Av. Madero upgrade

Disgruntled by lost revenue due to the Avenida Madero renovation project, several dozen merchants doing business along Chapala’s principal thoroughfare staged a peaceful protest march on the morning of Thursday, July 13.

Trees knocked down in storms

While the town of Chapala and its immediate surroundings have seen little storm damage so far this rainy season, dozens of trees were knocked down during a fierce tempest that struck the town of Atotonilquillo and neighboring parts of Ixtlahuacán de los Membrillos in the early hours of Friday, July 14.
