Federal Zone de-fence movement rekindled

As illegal appropriation of federal land located along Lake Chapala’s shoreline becomes more prevalent with the dry season descent of its waters, the self-titled Colectivo Pueblos Unidos de la Ribera is picking up where it left off six months ago in tearing down fences that obstruct free passage through north shore beach areas.

Local kids join robotics challenge

Chapala is represented in the global robotics tournament RoboRave International 2022 by 24 local primary and secondary students who are enrolled in the EduWit science, technology and engineering workshops held on the Ajijic campus of  Instituto Thomas More (ITM).

Easter observances start on Palm Sunday

Local churches have not yet confirmed the scheduling of this year’s Palm Sunday activities, including the religious processions reenacting Jesus Christ’s triumphal arrival in Jerusalem customarily held in Chapala, San Antonio Tlayacapan and Ajijic prior to the Covid-19 pandemic.
