Dengue not going away

Although Jalisco Health Secretary Fernando Petersen reported on November 29 a decline in hospitalizations and new dengue cases due to colder winter weather, the latest figures from the federal authorities reveal 885 new dengue cases in the state in the past week. No new deaths were reported.

Mother arrested after child found kept in chains

Officers from Jalisco’s Family Violence Unit (Unidad de Violencia Familiar) have rescued an 11-year-old boy who had been chained to the roof of his home in Tlaquepaque. The boy’s mother was arrested, and two other children, aged two and five, were taken into protective custody.

Jalisco looses its local parties
