Chula Vista to host golf tourney

The lucky golfer who gets the first hole-in-one at the Friday, May 2 tournament at the Chula Vista Country Club will be heading home in a 2014 Mazda.

Up to 72 golfers will be allowed to register for the event, co-hosted by the Guadalajara and Chapala branches of the Camara de Comerico Nacional (Chamber of Commerce) and the Delegación Ribera de Chapala.

Both business people from Guadalajara and lakeside, as well as local golfers are encouraged to join in the fun. Advance registration ends April 29, or when the 72nd golfer is enrolled and has paid the 1,500 pesos entry fee which includes a welcome cocktail and comida.

On tourney day golfers will begin signing in at 9 a.m. with a tee-off time set for 11 a.m. In addition to the new car from Plascencia Mazda that will be awarded to the golfer with the first hole-in-one, trophies and prizes will be awarded to the teams of golfers that rank in the top four spots.

The first-place team will receive trips on the Tequila Express, dinners for two at El Risco Restaurant, bottles of Tequila Herradura ,in addition to trophies. The teams ranking in the second and third spots will receive trophies. The fourth place team will be awarded additional prizes from tournament sponsors which include Corona, Ferreteria Galvez, iShop, S&S Auto, Tequila Herredura, the Tequila Express, Coca Cola, Mazda Plasencia, Restaurant El Risco, Estetica Yoly’s, Hotel Ajijic and Hotel Pescador.
