Fans of mariachi music can expect a rare treat with Al Calor del Mariachi, a marathon of special events coming to the Chapala area for eight straight days starting Sunday, October 19.
A collection of works by artist
Noris Binet will be showcased in an exhibition opening Saturday, October 16, at the Centro Cultural González Gallo, Chapala’s former railway station.
In her first solo show in Mexico, Binet will present paintings, poetry, drawings, sculptures and installations under the title “Recovering the Sacred Feminine,” conceived as a symbolic journey into the inner world.

• At Bare Stage Theatre, don’t miss Murray Schisgal’s “Luv,” a comic powerhouse—outrageous, sharp, and irresistibly funny from start to finish. What begins as a quiet encounter on a bridge explodes into a whirlwind of romantic chaos, twisted schemes, and laugh-out-loud neuroses. The dysfunctional trio at its center delivers nonstop hilarity with crackling dialogue, physical comedy, and biting wit.
Mariachi Real Axixic is tuning up to celebrate its ninth anniversary with a gala performance on Friday, October 3, 7 p.m., at the Centro de la Cultura y las Artes (CCAR) in La Floresta.
