Brotherhood and poetry will be the main themes of the third Sangre Viva (Living Blood) Festival this weekend on the Ajijic plaza.

An extravaganza of music, dance, theater, handicrafts and customs derived from Mexico’s ancient roots will take the forefront during the Festival Cultural Sangre Viva to be held October 9 through 11 at the Ajijic plaza.
The back-to-back inaugurations of a museum display of archeological relics and the newly refurbished theater stage were highlights of the kick-off of a series of special events programmed for the tail end of September by Efren González, out-going director of the Centro Cultural de Ajijic (CCA).
Foto Septiembre, an annual photo exhibit featuring the work of many of the area’s top photographers, opens Saturday, September 19, 6 p.m. at the Ajijic Cultural Center on the plaza.
