I was quite stunned when some friends recently commented that local expats don’t rely on newspapers or Facebook to get information.

Well, the newspaper part was not all that shocking. Sad to say, it seems to be a dying media breed. But I do get a great deal of pleasure when folks approach me to say how much they enjoy the Guadalajara Reporter. I guess it’s a generational thing among those of us who prefer holding reading material in our hands instead of blinding our eyesight on computer screens or the so-called smartphones clutched in our hands.

The cool thing about diving into print media is you can have unexpected experiences of coming across fascinating stories you would not specifically search for from Señor Google. And I have to say, our community has a variety of print journals covering diverse topics in two languages.
