Animal food

With the cooperation and help of Geoffrey Kaye and the Animal Shelter, several members of Animal Buddies will hold a food drive on Thursday, January 26 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in front of the Shelter. Anita’s Animals has lost a monthly 3,000-peso credit that helped feed the many animals that Anita Strehlow cares for. This loss has made the burden of feeding them even greater. When you purchase food for your own pets at the Animal Shelter, you’ll have the opportunity to purchase food or credit for Anita’s Animals — or you can just stop and purchase food for Anita’s Animals.

Those who cannot make it to the food drive can make a purchase of dog or cat food from the Animal Shelter anytime and ask the Animal Shelter to hold it for pick-up. This can also be done for any other animal rescuer of your choice — just let the beneficiary know that there is purchased food waiting for them at the Animal Shelter. St. Andrew’s Anglican

According to the story in Mark’s Gospel (1:14-22), the moment was exactly right. When the moment is exactly right, whatever happens next is our response to that moment. A female tick can remain for years at the end of a branch, just waiting for you to walk by and become her next meal—and according to Father Winston Welty’s sermon this week, “A Tick in Time,” that’s an apt analogy for responding to God’s intrusion into our lives.

The holidays are over and St. Andrew’s, at San Lucas 19 in Riberas del Pilar is back to the regular schedule of services at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. with a fellowship hour in between. All are welcome.
