After a brief respite from the week-long battle to quell a huge forest fire in the Chupinaya-Cerro Viejo mountain range,
firefighters from Chapala, Ixtlahuacán de los Membrillos and several other brigades were back in action the week after a brush fire broke out in the vicinity of Hacienda de la Labor on Wednesday, April 17.
The flames and smoke quickly spread up the hillside towards the rock quarry above Chapala Haciendas and the Ixtlahuacán borderline.
