100 helping hands

Join 100 Helping Hands Tuesday, November 28, 6 p.m. at La Bodega de Ajijic to raise 100,000 pesos for the local charities that help those most in need in our community. Those who donate 1,000 pesos will act as a judge and vote for their favorite charity of the day and have a say in how to best allocate the funds.

Registered and legally constituted charities of Chapala and Jocotepec will participate in this fundraiser. They will be provided 20 minutes in front of the judges to explain what they do and how they would commit to invest the fund if chosen.

The winner will take the total donations of the day, while La Bodega de Ajijic will donate 20 percent of the day’s sales. This event will be repeated on January 16, 2024, when the previous winning charities will no longer participate.

Ajijic Cares

World AIDS Day will be observed Friday, December 1 at the amphitheater on the Ajijic Malecon with a half-hour program beginning 5 p.m.

The theme will follow the overall Worlds Aids Day theme this year, “Let Communities Lead,” with an emphasis on education and resources.

Volunteers are needed to help with transportation of items to be set up beginning 10 a.m., and also to staff the registration and donations tables and dismantle the set up at the end of the program.
