Pastorelas
Chapala offers up two public Christmas plays (pastorelas) this weekend. Saturday, December 21, a group from Comala, Colima performs at the Fuente de los Pescadores in front of the Malecon, 7 p.m. (no cost) and Sunday, December 22, a comic pastorela “The Rematch: Devils vs Angels,” takes place at the Centro Cultural Antigua Presidencia, 7 p.m. (cost: 30 pesos).
Toys for Tots run
American Legion Post 7 Chapala and Los Gueros Motorcycle Club will conduct their 6th annual Toys for Tots Run, Saturday, December 14.
Christmas bazaar
American Legion Post Seven in Chapala holds a Christmas bazaar and bake sale, Saturday, December 7, 10 a.m. to noon.
Floating lantern fest
Agua Luz y Esperanza will take place Saturday, November 30 at Chapala’s Cristianía Park – weather permitting.
Jocotepec berry fest
Saturday and Sunday, November 23 and 24, the Feria Agroalimentaria de Berries will take place on the Jocotepec malecon from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day. Contests of meals and desserts, gourmet berry products and workshops and networking are on the schedule.
Chapala tequila fest
The fourth annual Chapala Tequila, Mezcal and Craft Beer Fest is set for Friday to Sunday, November 15-17 at the Chapala malecon, 2 to 10 p.m. Music and tastings will be the order of the day. No charge.
