Rotary International expanded into Chapala when District 4150 approved Club 86070, the Sunrise Rotary Club of Chapala, on June 30. The new group’s 32 charter members (which includes 15 former Rotarians) join the global association of 33,000 clubs in more than 200 countries.
Of the new programs being unveiled by the Lake Chapala Society (LCS) the most valuable may be Experimenta Mexico, a new multi-cultural series of programs for both Mexicans and expats.
The Virgin of Zapopan made a regal entrance to Chapala last Sunday riding aboard a float adorned with a huge floral arrangement and life-size models of the recently sainted 20th century Popes John XXIII and John Paul II.
