The voices rose almost spontaneously at a community potluck in 2023. One song turned into another, and laughter mixed with harmony as neighbors discovered the joy of gospel music together. Out of that moment, what seemed like a passing suggestion — Why not start a gospel choir? — begun to transform into a movement at Lakeside.

“Supporting Each Other” Dementia Support Group meets on Mondays, 10:30 a.m. to noon.

Choir practice is on Wednesdays, 4 to 5 p.m. All skill levels welcome.

The Lake Chapala Society (LCS) will once again host the annual Fiesta Mexicana, organized by the Ajijic Fiestas Patrias Committee as a fundraiser to help cover expenses for the town’s Independence Day celebrations.

Two months from now, a gruesome gang of zombie impersonators will perform in the local edition of Thrill the World, the annual worldwide simultaneous dance routine to Michael Jackson’s hit video Thriller.

Grace Church Chapala is a non-denominational, evangelical church, located at Iglesia del Espiritu Santo, at Alvaro Obregon 119, Colonia Plaza de Toros in Chapala.

Worship Jesus Christ with them on Sundays at 9:30 a.m. with contemporary-style praise music. 

Mixed men and women’s Bible study is every Tuesday, 10 a.m.
