With a month to go before the start of the 2026 World Cup, FIFA has “taken control” of Plaza Liberación in the city’s historic center — including its underground parking lot. The extensive square will be the site of the official FIFA Fan Festival from June 11 to July 19.

Guadalajara will host four first-round matches in June, but the excitement and fun won’t be confined to Estadio Akron. With free admission to the Fan Fest, fans can expect live broadcasts of all 104 World Cup matches on giant screens, musical performances and cultural shows in front of the Degollado Theater, interactive games, official merchandise sales, and a dedicated area for mariachi and tequila experiences.

While the main venue is Plaza Liberación, the experience will extend to Plaza de Armas (which will become a gastronomic zone featuring local cuisine), Paseo Alcalde and Plaza Fundadores.
