Jews and Catholics unite for good

The Jewish community in Guadalajara and the Archdiocese of Guadalajara teamed up to provide seasonal meals for around 10,000 people living in challenging economic circumstances on the periphery of the metropolitan area.

The meals were held in church atriums in 25 parishes and financed by private donations.  Victoria Medina, coordinator of the Comunidad Hebrea de Guadalajara, welcomed the opportunity to “work as a team in spite of the difference of religion.”  She praised the “cordiality” shown between the Rabbis and Catholic priests as the project developed over a three-week period.
