Guadalajara during Coronavirus

There was little or no activity in the center of Guadalajara this week as most people heeded messages to stay indoors. 

That all changed on Thursday, April 9 (Maunday Thursday), reports suggest, when Tapatios could no longer bear being cooped up and decided to ignore the official advice, heading to the plazas to bask in the sunshine and patronize markets and restaurants.

The number of passengers taking bus rides in the city has dropped by 65 percent during the voluntary Covid-19 lockdown, state government sources say. Drivers have been instructed to disinfect their rigs after each journey, regardless of how many passengers they have transported. Most seem to be complying.
