The Guadalajara International Film Festival (FICG), the cultural and cinematic event renowned for its celebration, promotion and distribution of Mexican and Ibero-American cinema, marks its 40th edition from June 6-15.
Arguably the most prestigious film festival in Latin America, FICG offers approximately 300 public screenings at venues across the metropolitan area. This year, around 100 films will compete in ten prize categories.
The festival’s headquarters is at the Cineteca, located in the Cultural Center of the University of Guadalajara (CUCS), situated on the northern edge of the city, which also houses the Conjunto Santander performing arts space. Last year set a record attendance of 94,004.
For the first time, Portugal is the guest of honor, showcasing over 30 films spanning classics and contemporary works.
