Mexican Immigration expels US citizen busted by Chapala police

A U.S. citizen listed as a registered sex offender in the state of Texas was expelled from Mexico following his detention by Chapala police for disorderly conduct.

Calvin D. Nidever was picked up in Ajijic on January 21 for aggression against various persons, including children who crossed his path as they were heading home from a local school. He was apparently under the influence of intoxicating substances at the time. The incident was reportedly his third run-in with local police since he took up residence at lakeside at least one year ago.

Nidever was turned over to immigration officials in Guadalajara who subsequently ordered him to leave the country. A background check revealed that he was in violation of his 1997 probation on a sexual assault charge.
