Former press chief does it again

Chapala officials revealed this week that former press chief José Guadalupe Vidrio Oliva has filed a new labor suit against the municipal government.

On the basis of a 2011 labor court ruling in his favor, Vidrio was reinstated to the City Hall staff on September 10, when he also appeared to claim more than two million pesos owed for accumulated severance benefits.  Since he hasn’t reported for work since then, he was apparently dropped from the employee rolls for more than four consecutive unjustified absences. That presumably prompted a new suit lodged with the state’s labor tribunal. Details of the case remain unclear, pending formal notification to local authorities.
