Tequila sector signs on to climate change action

Jalisco Governor Enrique Alfaro (left) and Miguel Ángel Domínguez Morales, president of the Consejo Regulador del Tequila (CRT), signed an agreement this week at the 2019 UN climate change conference (COP25) – held in Madrid, Spain – aimed at reducing the negative impact the tequila sector has on the environment.

The initiative, titled “Tequila Libre de Deforestación” (Tequila Free of Deforestation), is one of various measures the Jalisco government is undertaking in its commitment to tackling climate change.
