Getting kids keen on museums

Ask many kids if they want to visit a museum and the answer is likely to be a resounding “No Thanks.” But for three young Tapatios visiting 29 of the 32 museums in the state in the space of 22 days was a challenge they relished.

Helped by their mother and their aunt, Beckham Oswaldo, Mario Iván y Ángel Raúl Ríos Luna, 8, 11 and 13 years old respectively, participated in the the Nacional de Verano Coleccionarte 2015 program, sponsored by the National Council for Culture and the Arts, the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes and the Jalisco Secretariat of Culture.

The brothers received a passport that allowed them free entry to the museums, and with which they responded to questions about each museum in order to collect 29 buttons, one from each museum, some of which were outside the metropolitan area.
