‘Madame Butterfly’ tickets disappearing fast for

Time is running out if you want to buy tickets for one of the three performances of the opera “Madame Butterfly,” a top-class professional production scheduled at the Conjunto de las Artes in Guadalajara Sunday, July 9; Wednesday, July 12; and Saturday, July 15.

pg4bThe work stars two of Mexico’s most talented opera talents, María Katzarava and César Delgado, both of whom have achieved International fame in recent years.  The stage director is Luis Manuel Aguilar “El Mosco,” a Jalisco-born veteran with 30 years experience in the genre, and the musical director is Enrique Patrón de Rueda, arguably Mexico’s most famous conductor, who will be at the helm of the Soloists of America Orchestra, and the Municipal Choir of Zapopan.

Giacomo Puccini’s acclaimed opera in three acts tells the story of Cio-Cio San, a young Japanese girl who falls in love with American naval officer Pinkerton, with devastating consequences.

As of press time, all luneta tickets (three tiers) for all three performances had pretty much sold out. Only balcon tercero tickets were available for the July 9 show, but balcon primero, segundo and tercero tickets, as well as palcos, could be purchased for the other two dates.
