Four imposing stone figures created during last January’s open-air sculptors’ workshop are now on permanent display along the western leg of Chapala’s waterfront Malecón.
Strolling east to west from Avenida Madero, visitors will see “The Last Drop” by Estela Hidalgo, “Tribute to the Lake” by Dolores Ortiz, “Emerge” by Estanislao Contreras (pictured here) and “Movement” by David Agredano. The abstract works reflect each artist’s interpretation of the lake conservation theme chiseled from two-ton blocks of raw cantera.
