Chapala’s Ricky Granna earned first place honors and a cash award of 5,000 pesos for “Elemento Tradicional,” the painting he created during the the Day of the Dead art contest sponsored by the municipal Department of Culture.
He was one of 17 local artists who spent three days at their easels creating their entries in the patio of the Centro Cultural Antigua Presidencia. The second place prize went to Javier Ramos and third to Efrén González, both of Ajijic.
