A 4-0 zonal final clean sweep by the Adeitas de Chihuahua ended the Astros de Jalisco Femenil’s quest for a second successive National Women’s Professional Basketball League (LNBPF) title.
This was one step too far for the defending champions, but sweet revenge for the Adelitas, who lost to the Astros in the 2022 finals.
While disappointed at the result, coach Jonathan Villegas praised his players for fighting to the very end. He was also delighted with the excellent support for the Astros women, with the home stadium in Guadalajara pretty much full for all the playoff games.
