The Artists Alliance of Lake Chapala (AALC) has been fortunate in the last few years to grow and thrive and continue its long tradition of being a welcoming and encouraging space for local artists.

pg21aFormerly known as the Ajijic Society of the Arts, the name was changed this year to reflect that it is no longer a formal society representing solely the artists of Ajijic. It is dedicated to representing artists in a wider range of mediums from the international and Mexican communities throughout Lake Chapala.

AALC has been in existence since the early 1980s, and for the first time in its history will have its own gallery in Ajijic. This is a huge triumph for the membership, as it will allow the organization to host its exhibitions and special events in one location, operated purely by volunteers.
