Vancouver Language Centre marks national day

The Vancouver Language Centre in Guadalajara celebrated Canada Day Wednesday, July 1 with a party.

About 200 people, mostly Mexican, attended the party and were treated to wine and organic tequila, hors d’oeuvres and raffle prizes celebrating Canada.

English teacher Aaron Brazil and a friend wearing a shirt she obtained while studying in Canada. Brazil organized a game, offering his collection of Canadian coins to anyone who could name all ten Canadian provinces. English teacher Paul Davies, from Pennsylvania, won the contest.

VLC, based in Vancouver, has an 18-year history in Guadalajara and local students sometimes travel to Vancouver to attend VLC’s sister school, Vancouver English Centre.
