Expats invited to wacky New Year’s parade

Organizers of Ajijic’s light-hearted New Year’s Day parade are keen for expatriate residents to join in the fun and strengthen bonds of friendship for 2012.

The string of floats and costumed paraders originates at Seis Esquinas (Calle Ocampo at Alvaro Obregon), heading out between noon and 1 p.m. for a spin around the town. It ends at the waterfront Tecoluta soccer field for a lively neighborhood party revolving around a friendly match between rival barrio teams.

If the spirit moves you, dress yourself up or simply don white clothing as a symbol of peace and solidarity.

For further information in English call Marcos Zaragoza, cel. 333-408-8069, or contact Sarah Antolin at Alvaro Obregon 19.
