The recent holiday benefit party for the Love in Action Children’s Center has been termed at “fabulous success” by Bonnie Newman, who chaired the event. The lavish event was held in the beautiful historic home, La Mina, in Villa Nova, owned by Chris and Lise Wolf. The house was decorated throughout for the season and the ambiance was just right for the party goers.
Favorite entertainment for the guests was a troupe of some of the younger children who live at the shelter presenting a Christmas song and dance number just before Santa Claus turned up with treats for all.
Kudos to the many volunteers and donors who created delicious hors d’oeuvres, donated top of the line wine and liquor and served more than 200 guests in the sumptuous setting. More than 225,000 pesos were raised at the event and the funds will help defray the Center’s average expenses of about 125,000 pesos per month.
