Presbyterians distribute bazaar funds

Lakeside Presbyterian Church last weekend distributed the proceeds from its Spring Bazaar held on March 1 and 2.

All the money raised from selling donated items has gone to local charities. No funds are kept by the church because the church’s leaders feel the Bazaar is a great way to involve the whole membership in community outreach.

This year’s Bazaar was very successful. The church raised about 25 percent more money than in 2012.

The organizations chosen to receive funds were Centro de Desarrollo, represented by Sylvia Flores, Cruz Roja International Volunteers Chapala, represented by Margy Kassier, President, La Ola Children’s Shelter, represented by Bob and Becky Plinke, Tepehua Centro Comunitario, represented by Moonie King, Susan Netherton and Gin Pelez and University and Vocational Assistance, represented by Dean and Lynn Hanson.

Checks were distributed by Wanda Vincent, the deacon in charge of Ministry Outreach, after the church service on May 19.
