Motorheads rev up for muddy mayhem

Throngs of off-road motorsport enthusiasts are expected to converge on Lake Chapala’s shoreline Sunday, April 6 to get down and dirty at the 13th Can-Am Festival del Lodo.

The Mud Fest will feature rounds of racing for ATVs, UTVs, motor cross bikes and 4x4 vehicles on a defined track rigged up with a mucky pits, hillocks, curves and straight-aways. Many drivers will also engage in wild and wild free-wheeling along the edge of the lake.

On-site exhibition areas will include commercial displays of off-track vehicles and accessories, motor buff outfits, along with stands for fuelling up on food and drink. Continuous music and entertainment will further enhance the action.

The venue is located on the outskirts of Chapala at waterfront property accessed via back roads feeding off the highway to Mezcala about one kilometer past the old railway station and the intersection of Calle Peper Guizar. Admission to the event is set at 70 pesos per person, including entry to ample free parking space. Gates open at 11 a.m.
